The Challenge

Sportek arrived with a bold vision: decentralize the surf industry and revolutionize how prizes and rewards reach athletes and creators. Their goal was ambitious: build a mobile app that the global surf community would embrace, delivering a Web3 experience that captures the sport's raw energy while driving massive engagement.


The challenge? Translate this vision into an NFT-based marketplace that gives ownership back to surfers and fans, while making them feel part of something transformative. Beyond individual revenue potential, Sportek's mission runs deeper: unite and elevate the surf community, building momentum toward a fundamental shift in how the industry operates.


Success meant creating not just a product, but a movement.

How I Made it

I began with community-first discovery, analyzing surf culture behaviors and Web3 adoption barriers to understand exactly where digital experiences lose authenticity. Through strategic workshops with Sportek's leadership, I identified high-impact opportunities to position them as the platform revolutionizing ownership in the surf industry.


My approach combined brand strategy with experience design. I developed a visual language that captured Sportek's disruptive energy: bold color systems, dynamic typography, and visceral interactions that transformed complex blockchain mechanics into intuitive moments of connection.


Every design decision served a dual purpose: honoring surf culture's raw authenticity while eliminating Web3's friction points.

What I helped achieve

I designed the entire marketplace MVP experience: from frictionless onboarding that converts users in under 60 seconds, to intuitive NFT transactions that feel like collecting rather than purchasing, to social features that transform individual ownership into community status.


Every flow was stress-tested to showcase Web3's possibilities while maintaining the accessibility of mainstream apps.



The result: a mobile platform that redefines what it means to be a surf fan. We created an experience where discovering content leads to owning moments, owning moments builds collections, and collections establish identity within the community.
